8 month old has a terrible chest cold- Vicks rub ok or no?

I brought my daughter into the ER for a chest cold where she tested positive for RSV. I've been following all the instructions. She has a humidifier, is clothed comfortably, bed is elevated to relieve congestion, fan is on, lots of liquids. But she's so congested, I want her to have some relief. Is Vick's ok, or should I not use it? I am waiting to hear back from the on call nurse at her pediatrician, as the office is closed today but I always like to get opinions from other parents...
