Do the Iraqi insurgents have snipers?

They have rifles, that can hit at long range, they have some trained marksmen, mostly just armed irregulars, as far as trained Snipers, there are very few, most are just armed individuals that get lucky with a relatively short range shot. The weapons and equipment that use are nothing special, not many .338 Lapua's showing up in Iraq or Afghan, and taking a single shot does not make one a Sniper, it makes you smart because it is hard to identify where the shot came from. Most of the time referred to as a pop-shot, and most of the time missing its mark.
