I'm going crazy with anticipation, please help!!!?

Last week a friend just mysteriously cut contact with me, no explanation, nothing. I was beginning to fall in love with him... and now he is completely ignoring and avoiding me!! I understand it's probably because he doesn't feel the same way, but I at least want to talk to him to get some closure. My guy friends tell me to give him a few more days to sort things out, but I really want to know now!!! The anticipation is killing me!!!
